All applicants must obtain or are going to apply for an ARC and a work permit IN PERSON from authorities in Taiwan. The ELTA program does NOT provide visa or legal residence sponsorship for all applicants.
Non-student applicants must obtain a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university or college. The list of the accredited universities and colleges is based on the Database for the Reference List of Foreign Universities from the Ministry of Education, Republic of China (Taiwan) website (list)
CRIMINAL RECORD:
All applicants should provide a criminal record certificate/police check issued within the last six months from the Taiwan Police Department.
OTHERS:
All applicants MUST attend both the online ELTA training courses and on-site workshop with perfect attendance. (The current in-service ELTAs do not need to attend online training courses again as they have previously completed these training courses.)
FORMER ELTAs:
Former ELTAs who wish to continue joining the program must meet all eligibility requirements and will be recruited based on their performance evaluation in their previous services.
ELTAs who join the Pilot Program and have not registered through ELTA Online Application System before must apply through Online Application if you wish to join the ELTA Program.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
No Chinese language skills and teaching experience are required. While a background in Mandarin and teaching experience is useful, it is not necessary for the position.
