Required Documents
The following documents are required for the application to the TFETP. Please go through this page carefully before starting your application. If you have questions about the required documents, please contact us for more information.
The following are some reminders to facilitate your application process.
  1. The application system only accepts pdf format files. Please convert your documents to pdf format for uploading.
Foreign English Teacher
  • Passport

    Please provide a copy of your passport with photo and personal information.

  • Degree Certificate

    Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited university or college. The list of the accredited universities and colleges is based on the Database for the Reference List of Foreign Universities from the Ministry of Education, Republic of China (Taiwan) website (list).

  • State-Issued Teaching License/Certificate or proof of qualification

    Applicants should provide one of the following certificates:

    1. Valid state-issued teaching license or certificate.
    2. Proof of teaching experience in accredited foreign schools for more than one year or proof of service as a full-time teaching assistant of English courses in domestic public schools that participate in MOE's program for more than one year.

    If you provide the second type of proof listed above, you will have to upload one of the additional certificates listed below and fill out the summary table:

    1. Hold a bachelor’s degree or above in education, English, or related field, and should upload proof of course participation (course record or transcript) in English teaching materials, teaching assessment, introduction to second language learning and trial teaching for more than 120 hours.
    2. Hold a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate, TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate or CELTA (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults) certificate approved by the accredited universities.

  • Police Check/Police Clearance Certificate

    Applicants should provide a nationwide police check/clearance from competent authorities in their home country or the country they currently reside in, with the issuance date within six months prior to their application date for TFETP.

  • Statement of Purpose

    A statement of purpose within 700-1500 words. You may include the following aspects in the statement of purpose: your motivation for applying, your background, why you are a good fit for our positions, your career plan, the objectives you wish to accomplish during your time in Taiwan, and your perspective and philosophy of teaching.

  • Teaching Demonstration Video

    The video shall be 4-5 minutes in length (the part over 5 minutes may not be evaluated) and include you teaching a specific topic, concept, or a particular skill. We expect to observe your teaching style, teaching logic, teaching skills, and teaching strategies through the video.

  • 2 Recommendation Letters

    The recommendation letters can be from your teachers, professors, previous or current managers and colleagues, who have known you for a period of time and know about your performance at work.

Foreign English Teaching Assistant
  • Passport

    Please provide a copy of your passport with photo and personal information.

  • Degree Certificate

    Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited university or college. The list of the accredited universities and colleges is based on the Database for the Reference List of Foreign Universities from the Ministry of Education, Republic of China (Taiwan) website (list).

    Applicants without prior teaching experiences in either Taiwan or other countries are highly advised (but not required) to provide education or teaching qualifications that are either certified by Republic of China (Taiwan) Embassies and Missions or verified by a recognized credential evaluation agency.

  • Police Check/Police Clearance Certificate

    Applicants should provide a nationwide police check/clearance from competent authorities in their home country or the country they currently reside in, with the issuance date within six months prior to their application date for TFETP.
